UN Gave Women Important Role For Peace

Important Role For Peace – Conflict has devastating consequences, including in widening the dividing valley between women and men. Women often have fewer resources to protect themselves and, with children, often become the majority of displaced populations and refugees. War strategies such as sexual violence specifically target them. Although women have led the restoration movement and supported the recovery of society after the conflict. They almost completely vanished from the reinforcing diplomacy. The exclusion of reconstruction controls access to chances to recover, to obtain justice for human rights abuses, and to participate in the formation of reformed laws and public institutions.

United Nations : Women Play An Important Role For Peace

The international community has acknowledged that women’s participation is really important to pursue and maintain penentraman. Women are apparently change agents – and should be able to do more. In 2000, the UN Security Council adopted 1325 historic resolutions on women, penentraman and security. It calls on women to participate in peacebuilding, more protected from human rights violations, and has access to justice and services to eliminate discrimination.

UN Women’s program on women, penentraman, and security is escorted by a series of commitments to women’s rights. These include 1325 resolutions, and seven resolutions of the UN Security Council – 1820, 1888, 1889, 1960, 2106, 2122 and 2242.

Other important points are the Beijing Platform for Action and the Convention on the Elimination of All Discrimination Formats to Women (CEDAW) in particular Recommendation CEDAW no. 30 on women in conflict prevention, conflict and post-conflict situations.

Around the world, UN Women is acting to build women’s participation and influence in decision-making to prevent and resolve conflicts. We support women’s involvement in all aspects of peace building, towards more inclusive and egalitarian societies that can end gender discrimination and resolve non-violent conflict.

Our program supports the women’s peace coalition and prepares them to engage in pensraman work. We reach out to the pensioners to detect and stop conflict-related sexual violence. Other initiatives support judicial and security institutions that protect women and girls from violence and discrimination, public services are fully responsive to women’s needs, greater access to women to economic opportunities, and women’s involvement in all forms of national and local public decision making. Our resources and publications provide valuable knowledge and tutorials to determine women’s participation and inclusion in all aspects of pensraman work.
